Got the brake bias adjuster on and the passenger seat in....... but it's not fixed......don't tell the father-in-law as he'll be the one sitting in it
I gather the meeting point is the Phoenix, then after breakfast-in-a-bun moving to the Poacher. Where is the Poacher? Can I follow you guys?
Does anyone know what the weather will be doing as I haven't doors or roof?
Steve Foster, My gearbox shaft doesn't have the short removable bit, and the gearknob you sold me has no thread? I'll bring it with me tomorrow for you to see.
Cheers, Andy

The Poacher is at South Warmborough, map on the area meetings page here. I reckon there's a good chance of a convoy of Sevens from the Phoenix.

Yep. Phoenix and then Poacher. I will have my Sat nav thing with me.
Try here
and click South England then on Farnborough its near enough and then Forecasts. (I use this site for sailing forecasts on lakes nearby). Morning weather looks ok, rain pm sometime.
Andy, Glad to hear the car is coming together. I look forward to seeing it. What! I am sure it did have when I sold it to Peter C. He returned it as he spec'd the wrong thread. Can't say I checked the thread on getting it back though.
As said before your £20 in exchange of course if you don't want it.

Thanks guys, immediatly after I posted I checked the club site (via Steve's signature link) should have done that first, doh.
Steve, As before, I'd like to keep the gearknob, I just need a means to secure it. We can chat/view tomorrow.
See you guys then.
Cheers, Andy

So did many go to the poacher? Took the kids down the Phoenix and it seemed as crowded as ever. |

The Phoenix was as popular as ever with a good turnout. We were actually going to give the Poachers a miss until the Phoenix announced they had run out of bacon (at 10:30!!!) The Poacher was a bit of a washout car wise (unles you were into Morgans) but their recovery breakfast was superb.
After the Poachers we returned to the Phoenix and it was heaving with classics (with the odd supercar thrown in for good measure)
Highlights were the pontoon nosed Tesstarossa, the supercharged Alfa Romeo and the extremely rare Supersprint R

I called it a day after the Poacher. Only so much metal I can view at one go.
I did not need a recovery breakfast but the soup was excellent.
Nice to see the Phoenix open. They just need a function room and a non smoking area now! If we all ask for this may be there's a bigger chance of it happening.
Nice to see Andy up from Winchester in ex race VX (I fitted his gear knob ) and the the Gosport mob.

Great to see so many cars - in particular the 7's even if they are not vintage and of course to meet so many people. We left the Poacher a little before 12 and headed South into the rain , and got stuck behind the odd car that wouldn't exceed 40 so did get a little wet.

Thanks for the knob fitting Steve I've had to remove it and put the old one back on as I couldn't get reverse . The gearshaft gater fouls the gearknob. I'll change the gater to give the gearknob more room. If I can bother you again at some point to turn a Se7en badge in the top that would be great.
A great turn out at the Phoenix. I don't remember seeing so many Se7ens last year. As my father-in-law commented, there weren't two Se7ens the same colour. We too went home after visiting the Poacher, it started raining as we left .
Still, an 87 mile round trip isn't bad for my Se7en's first blat since being put back on the road (been stored since 1997).
Hope to visit you guys at the club meets a bit more often now.
Cheers, Andy

Yes, both Phoenix and The Poacher were very good.
Deliciously slippery on the way home!
